A comprehensive workplace policy which sets out relevant definitions and also the processes relevant to employee leave and absence in the workplace. This policy provides general information in respect of employee leave requests, e.g. annual leave, sick leave, bereavement leave, family violence leave, public holidays, etc. It also contains information about an employer requesting medical certificates for paid and unpaid sick leave under the Holidays Act 2003. It further provides a framework for managing a medical incapacity process, or absenteeism for high levels of employee absence, as well as an abandonment process. In addition, this policy contains template forms for all types of leave provided under the Holidays Act 2003.
